For me, anticipation is something joyful, because sometimes the uncertainty that waiting brings is incredibly exciting. Just think of children's Advent calendars, where with each day and each completed door, they can hardly wait for Christmas Eve to finally arrive; or of pregnancies, filled with joyful anticipation. I, too, can hardly wait to receive a letter, to embark on a long trip, or for my vacation to finally arrive. I can wait and wait as long as there's something positive in the end—or perhaps I simply wait until things calm down, until the waters settle. So, let's enjoy the time of waiting for Pentecost and the start of the upcoming Internationale Barocktage at Melk Abbey together, with a preview of the program.
